Still by Steve Lambert at the Alma Tavern Theatre
Max Theatre Company is presenting Steve Lambert’s play, Still — which we workshopped at a group meeting last autumn — at the Alma Tavern Theatre, Alma Vale Road, Clifton, Bristol, from this Tuesday, 22 August until Saturday, 25 August. Steve is also acting in his dark two-hander about the relationship that develops between a man and a woman after she flags down his car late at night.

Artspace Lifespace invites submissions for season at the pro-Cathedral
Artspace Lifespace is planning a season of events at the pro-Cathedral in Clifton from mid-September until the New Year, and invites submissions from Bristol writers for this.

The organisation wants to give as many writers as possible the chance to take part and is asking for scripts, outlines or proposals with performance times as short as three minutes and no longer than 20 minutes. Your scripts can be for staging in any form but kept to as few actors as possible (six or less). Artspace Lifespace is especially interested in ideas that reflect the life of Bristol, possibly centring on the abolition of slavery, independence of India, or other current local issues.

The company plans to produce a film of between 15 and 60 minutes in 2008. It is offering the chance for a writer to gain more exposure for his or her work and a small fee of no more than £50.
