Our Voices of the Great War project in association with Brass Works Theatre culminates on Friday, 8 and Saturday, 9 August, with a show at the theatre in Warmley presenting nine of your monologues based on the lives and times of World War I.

Both performances will feature the following monologues (listed here in alphabetical order by title) developed at our meetings this spring:

At the Front by Brian Weaving
A Fool for Flight by Bruce Fellows
The Hat by Lissa Carter
It Really is Him by Brian Weaving
Lady in Waiting by Michelle Warwicker
Sacrifice by Stephanie Weston
Saved for Something by Bruce Fellows

Sleep by Brian Weaving

Actors David Cole (seen recently in Ross Willis’ Pedestrian Refuge at Bierkeller Theatre), Jasmine Darke, Lucinda Holloway and Chris Keyna (who featured in our Turning ’ages event at Bristol Central Library last month) will perform the monologues with direction from Leah Holmes, Shane Morgan (who directed our Scripts @ Starbucks readings in July/August 2008) and Maisie Newman.

The British Legion Women’s Choir will contribute WWI songs to the show, which is tilisted as one of the Imperial War Museum’s First World War Centenary events.

Brass Works Theatre is in Tower Lane, Warmley, Bristol, BS30 8XT. It’s around 25-30 minutes drive from Watershed, and is on the 42 and 43 bus routes departing from Broad Quay (stop Cw) in the city centre.
