Competition latest
We trust you’ve been spending the summer break writing your entry for our annual competition that closes on 30 November. We’re now applying for another grant and, if successful, hope to present the winners in the New Vic for a fourth season of rehearsed readings. Final details of how to submit your entry will be given in the next newsletter, but   just in case you haven’t started yet — it needs to be a one-act or full-length script for film, radio, TV or theatre. Judging will be conducted anonymously by independent readers.

Jessica to pen new play at the National
Congratulations to Jessica Townsend who, following the successful revival of her play Angels and Saints by the Soho Theatre, has been awarded a grant (and an office) by the National Theatre to work on a new play.

Have-a-Go Hero acclaimed in Edinburgh
Congratulations, too, to Tim Massey whose play Have-a-Go Hero was performed to critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe. The normally hard-to-please Scotsman gave it a three-star rating.
