Summer Recess Following the conclusion of Rosemary Mason’s course Writing for the Screen, we’re now taking a break until September. Success for three Southwest Scriptwriters Steve Hennessy’s radio play The Song of the Whale is to be broadcast on Radio 4 on Tuesday, 16 July at 2pm.

Our next five meetings will take place in the Garden Suite on the first floor at the Theatre Royal, King Street, Bristol 1. This is because the Cooper’s Loft is being used for rehearsals. Ask at the bar on the first floor for directions. Everyone attending pays £1 to help cover costs.

Following the successful talk in January given by Catherine Johnson, writer-in-residence at the Bristol Old Vic, she has agreed to attend one of our regular meetings on Tuesday, 27 February. On this occasion we plan to read out scripts from as many people as possible, with priority going to those who attend our meetings..
