Many thanks to everyone involved in our Scratch Nights event aboard Lightship Theatre on 13 March.

Our second showcase bringing script samples by our workshop regular writers to a wider audience again proved popular, attracting a full house and some enthusiast feedback.

We hope to stage a third Scratch Nights event later this year — watch this space for updates…

Script Writing with Mark Breckon at HOURS

Script Writing with Mark Breckon at the HOURS gallery/event space

Southwest Scriptwriters veteran Mark Breckon is leading a scriptwriting course at the HOURS gallery/event space at 10 Colston Yard, Colston Street, BS1 5BD, on selected Friday evenings until 14 June.

‘This is a second stage script course for students who have previously taken one of Mark’s courses or have experience elsewhere. Around 60-70% of the time will be devoted to hearing students’ work, and there will also be exercises/discussion on key aspects of writing including motivation, structure, character and dialogue.’

The interactive nature of Mark’s course means that students can join at any stage. Its remaining Fridays are 12 and 26 April, 10 and 24 May, and 14 June.
