Charlotte’s Happy! wins Forward Dialogue award
Congratulation to Charlotte Souter, whose absurdist play Happy! — the featured work in our debut Zoom meeting on 17 June — has emerged as the overall winner of young performers’ production company Just Some Theatre’s Forward Dialogue award.
Happy! was one of ten plays from 200 submissions chosen by Just Some Theatre for an initial reading of extracts before an online audience of actors and a dramaturge/director. Feedback from this first round helped the company narrow the field to three scripts, which received a more in-depth development reading. Closer scrutiny of the three finalists showed that Charlotte’s script was the strongest and recipient of the Forward Dialogue award.
Charlotte wins a prize of £800 plus further development opportunities with Just Some Theatre.
